Windows Phone 7 update to officially launch February 7th

Early adopters of Windows Phone 7, the latest mobile operating system to come from Microsoft, are to receive the OS’s first major update next week, new reports suggest.

Believed to be preparing for a February 7th arrival the Phone 7 update, officially codenamed ‘NoDo’, will see the currently limited range of compatible handsets add a number of key new features to their respective bags of tricks with the ever handy copy and paste function taking centre stage.

Announced last year the first Window Phone 7 update is one that has been long awaited with multitasking capabilities also hotly tipped to be on the list of new arrivals.

Whilst the NoDo update will no doubt appease a number of Windows Phone 7 handset users, the unconfirmed timing of the reported release, based on “a number of French sites” by blog site Winrumours, is a surprise to many with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer preparing to take to the stage of Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona just one week later on February 14th.
