The popular and addictive game Angry Birds looks set to fly into Windows Phone 7 handsets soon, as well as in 3D.
Rovio Mobile, who is behind Angry Birds, has already released it for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices, with Angry Birds 2 in the works already.
In an interview with Pocket-Lint, Peter Vesterbacka, CEO of Rovio (or the Mighty Eagle as he's known) revealed a bit more about their WP7 and 3D plans.
When asked if Angry Birds would be available on Windows Phone 7, he said they were working on it, and hinted towards the launch being held up due to Microsoft. All Vesterbacka said was, "Let’s just say, Microsoft has a lot of lawyers."
It's hard to imagine why the launch would be delayed, seeing how Angry Birds has received unprecedented success on other platforms, leading to spinoffs for seasons and holidays (example, Angry Birds Hallowe'en and Angry Birds Christmas).
As of now, we're in the dark about the release date and price for Angry Birds on WP7 devices. Those using Android devices can get it for free (with ads).
He also confirmed Angry Birds in 3D format but did not reveal anything else, such as when we could get our hands on the 3D version and what device it will be launched on. But as we know, Angry Birds is confirmed for a Nintendo 3DS release, so that's definitely one of the platforms we should be seeing the game on.
