Fernando Torres could be on his way out of Chelsea by October time if plans to introduce player stories makes it into FIFA 12.
FIFA creative director Gary Paterson revealed details of possible improvements which could be in store for FIFA 12 with the closed transfer window period a hot topic of discussion.
Speaking to PSM3 magazine Paterson said, "I think the idea of creating stories throughout the year is something we're very interested in as well.
"It's about creating a football world you immerse yourself in, thing like, you know, the Rooney story (when he said he want to leave Man Utd and then signed a new contract). (That's) definitely interesting to us.
"Things to do while the transfer window's closed is certainly something that we're looking at."
Paterson revealed that EA will also look at the matchday atmosphere element adding that is was "something we need to invest in."
The FIFA versus Pro Evolution rivalry is one of the longest gaming rivalries going, and with the EA game seemingly stealing a march in recent years, Paterson added that FIFA's gameplay is getting, “harder and harder to improve on.”
EA has not given any word on an official FIFA 12 release date, but we expect it to land in its usual October/November slot, minus a certain Mr Gray commentating on proceedings we imagine.
