Angola road conditions in rainy season
Here I am, again. We're on our way south from Brazzaville. We've been to Namibia a number of times before, so we were thinking of taking the road east toward Zambia. The route we researched goes more or less: whatever road to Luanda or Uige-Lucala-Malanje-Xa-muteba-Cacolo-Saurimo-Luena-Lucussa-Sacacama-Lumbala-kaquengue-Caripande. Or any variation thereof. Our research via word of mouth, hubb and tracks for africa unfortunately didn't factor in rain, since we thought we'd be here much earlier in the year. Has anyone been down any of those roads during the rains? We're driving a BJ75, it's a pretty good car but no Pinzgauer, Unimog or motorcycle. Really wondering if it's doable. Also if anybody has recent conditions for the "normal" road during the rains I would greatly appreciate all input. And while I'm at it: there are issues with the ferry to Kinshasa so I was contemplating taking the road to Luozi from Brazza so I could cross there. A couple of weeks ago it sounded quite ok, slow and grueling, but no big deal. Now I've been hearing stories of it being close to impossible or impossible. Anyone driven down there in the rains? Thanks so much guys!
