Nintendo 3DS to get Red Flare colour scheme makeover

Having officially unveiled the Nintendo Wii U console at E3 earlier this week Nintendo has confirmed it is also planning to refresh its handheld offering bringing a splash of ‘Red Flare’ to its 3DS line-up.

Set to join the existing Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black colour variants of the pocket friendly glasses-free 3D gamer, the Red Flare Nintendo 3DS is set to land in the gaming giant’s native Japan on July 14th with a ¥25,000 (£190) price tag.

Although Nintendo has yet to announce if, or indeed when, the Red Flare Nintendo 3DS will be made available in the UK, if previous DS models are to go by, additional colour schemes for the 3D portable console are expected to launch on British shores throughout the device’s lifecycle.

Launching in the UK on the same day as the iPad 2, Nintendo’s 3DS console has been repeatedly hit by a number of issues that have seen the device criticised for making users nauseous and giving users headaches and dizzy spells.

Would you be more tempted to buy a Nintendo 3DS if it was available in more colour schemes or are you simply not interested in the pocket 3D gamer? Let us know via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
