Canada to Iran or Dubai

I want to start my trip in Dubai, but not stay too long, then go to Iran and east-bound.
I looked into shipping for Dubai then thought, "why bring my bike to Dubai just to ride it to the port?". So I then thought I would fly into Dubai, but ship the bike to Iran and pick it up there. The shipping company said they could ship to Iran but wouldn't help with any paperwork. I imagine it's political.
Then I watched the section on the Achievable Dream about flying the bike being easier.
Has anyone had experience shipping or flying into Iran?
